To discuss things that are not Zona-Related

There was a suggestion that we have a separate forum for the non-Zona related stuff.

So, here we are.

So, as the villainous Toht said in "Raiders of the Lost Ark,"

"What shall we talk about?"

Hey - how about "Crystal Skull." What did y'all think?

I liked it. I was able to enjoy it as a great big special effectspalooza heavy on the "Oh wow" and "Oh lol" moments and light on seriousness. There was hardly a moment when I wasn't entertained and just about every scene had me laughing at just how AWESOME that special effect was. Liking Ike, jet sleds, Tarzan La Beouf, refrigerators... you name it, I was entertained by it.

Anyway, this is better than my F1RST P0ST!!!1 thread.

I liked it very much. Yes, there's some pretty silly stuff involved, but if you can accept that Indiana Jones is able to be dragged through the desert at 50 MPH by his bullwhip, (without ripping his pants) leap up, take over the vehicle, get shot, take enough punishment to hospitalize Mike Tyson, then stow away on top of a Nazi submarine with nobody noticing, and all the other clearly impossible comic-book derring do that he did in the first film, then you can accept that he can jump into a "lead lined" heavy-ass insulated `50s refrigerator, get tossed a mile by the blast wave of a nuke and walk away. What appealed to me was the fact that he was a genuinely older, steadier and more tired Indy - and yet still a consummate badass, even if he wasn't as fast as he used to be. It was entertaining. And you got a MILF Karen Allen.

It worked for me.

It's the hat.

I figure, since Jones is basically a warrior of God, that his hat has been blessed to protect him, so long as he wears it. Ever notice he only really gets hurt when he's not?
