Song for combat

Ok, this SO isn't Mentl's genre, but: M. C. Hammer. :D

"Can't touch this" for defense, then

"Hammer Time!" for an offensive return strike.

Just a random thought...

I am writing all of these down, you know. Not completely discounting any of them.

Again, Not exactly Mentl's Genre, but still

Salt n' pepa
SHOOP

If looks could kill you would be an uzi
You're a shotgun - bang! What's up with that thang?
I wanna know how does it hang?

And who says he has to stick to the exact lyrics... It's all about will and intent right? He's quick enough to modify for what he really needs on the fly!

If looks could kill mine would be an uzi (streams of power bullets from the eyes)
Like a shotgun - bang! (a blast from his hands)
I wanna see you hang (enemy strung up by the neck with a strand of power, no tree limbs required... just out in the middle of a field!)

seriously, with the number of songs he must have in his head... not only rock, but every other genre he might hear on a radio here or there, he has an endless amount lyrics to focus power around. And once he starts modifying for exactly what he has in mind, he's gonna be a terror!

Salt n' pepa
PUSH IT

Ah, push it - push it good
Ah, push it - push it real good
Ah, push it - push it good
Ah, push it - p-push it real good

To push anything out of the way, or push people off ledges, out of trees, off bridges, knock over horse and rider you name it...

At this point, he'd be smart to sit down and think of specific songs/lyrics to use for defense, offense, flight, levetation, stun attacks, deflections... anything he can think of!

Cripes... I'm no musician, but my musical tastes are pretty eclectic... If I can think up lyrics for all these situations, Mentle can too!

Mentl c an, indeed - once he gets used to the idea, and a little practice. As you say, rap is not his particular venue, but he's aware of Salt n' pepa's work - whether he has any memorized is another thing altogether ... :)

Good lord... A simple little tune... one I learned as a child in church...

"This little light of mine... I'm gonna let it shine..."

He could have used this simple little tune to light things in the tunnel. It can be as dim or as bright as he desires...

And for Mentl, perhaps the most important point is it doesn't involve pyrotechnics of any kind... Just a cool orb of light hehehe

This came to me at work today. 8)

Mentl's Jewish.

Although, I have thought of him pulling out Hatikva, I'm not sure what that would do, yet -- it would be awesome whatever it is.

Jewish? That just makes my day! I could just Kvell!

Well, there are the WW2 songs from the Jewish Partisans of Vilna.
Dos Meydl fun Vald (The girl from the forest)
Shtiler, Shtiler (Quiet, quiet!)

There is Jewish cadence calls:
Oh you sons of Moses, with your crooked noses, Fight! Fight! Fight for Israel!
If your hair is wavy, join the Jewish navy, Fight! Fight! Fight for Israel!
If you like salami, join the Jewish army, Fight! Fight! Fight for Israel!
One skin, two skins, three skins more, but you'll never find a foreskin on a Jewish man of war!

But personally, I always remember and loved good old USMC cadence calls. Simple rhyme structures, massively misogynistic, and violent at times.

Mentl has never been to Israel, though his mother spent an interesting ten months on a kibbutz in her youth. And those lyrics are wonderfully un-PC. There is a scene far, far, far down the road that I might just use that for, though.

Thinking more bardic and less sorcerer, how about 'March of Cambreadth'? A cheerful little tune, if ever Zona finds herself in a situation where she needs to take out a couple of armored divisions single handedly.
"Axes flash, broadswords swing,
Shining armors piercing ring!
Horses run with a burnished shield,
Fight those bastards till they yield!"
I understand that it is quite popular among the various special forces in the real world.

Alternatively, anything by Manowar. Well, except for their songs that appear to be nothing but strings of obscenities. 'Warriors of the World' would do nicely, especially the way the story seems to be headed.
"There he stands with sword in feeble hand;
If one would be a king, first one should be a man!"

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if there is a thread for really bad songs for Mentl? No doubt Zonas tribe will want him to play for them and, upbeat though the song might be, 'Ballroom Blitz' would probably be a really bad choice for a party song.

There's no thread for Bad Songs, Uncle Squirrely, but feel free to make one. Like the MArch of Cambreadth, and had actually given some thought to Ballroom Blitz - though not as a party song! :)
"So he says to me, 'You wanna be a baaaaad guy?' And I say yeah, baby! I wanna be bad! I SAYS, SURF'S UP SPACE PONIES! I'M MAKING GRAVY WITHOUT THE LUMPS! Aaaaaa-hahahahaha!"
